You decided to spend your vacation in an exotic location, but what is there to do and visit? While each part of the world has its own magic and attractions, today we will look at only five small pieces of paradise: Goa, Seychelles, Monte Carlo, Curacao and Azores, to see what they have to offer to the visitors.
Goa is a mix of Indian and Portuguese culture, rich in historical monuments, churches and temples, as well as beautiful natural landscapes and beaches to visit. There is a lot to learn from this part of the world where yoga was created. Famous beaches that are worth visiting are Morjim, Vagator, Anjuna, Baga, Calangute and Sinquerim. They are very popular because of their clean golden sand, beautiful views and exotic parties.
Churches and temples are among the main attractions in Goa. Temples like Shanta Durga and Mahalaxmi are visited by thousands of tourists each season. Other tourist attractions in Goa are Reis Magos Fort and Church of Reis Magos, both built in 16th century.
When you arrive on Mahe island it’s impossible not to know about the existence of Port Victoria. Victoria is the capital of Seychelles and Port Victoria is the only port in the capital. It was named like this in honor of the British queen after her coronation. A small version of Big Ben can be found in the capital. Other attractions in Seychelles are Morne Seychellois National Park, the biggest natural park in the country, Ste Anne National Marine Park and Aride Island Nature Reserve are very popular attractions for tourists. Other places to visit in Seychelles are the Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception and the Hindu Temple Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar, the only hindu temple in Seychelles, named after the Hindu God of safety and prosperity, Lord Vinayagar.
Monte Carlo, Monaco
The best attraction of Monte Carlo is, of course, Casino Monte Carlo. The guests of Hotel de Paris are the first to enjoy the most luxurious and elegant casino in the country – formal wear is required to enter the casino. The Oceanographic Museum is very interesting attraction because it has so many types of marine creatures to show, plus a fine aquarium including a shark lagoon pool. The star of the museum is a giant 90 ft whale skeleton.
The gardens are very beautiful to see, and one of the most interesting is Jardin Exotique which features an amazing collection of cacti. Other places not to be missed are Fort Antoine and Prince’s Palace.
Curaçao, The Caribbean
If you ever arrive in Curacao, please visit the Hato Caves. They will give all tourists an unforgettable underground experience. They are over 1500 years old and were used as refuge and shelter by the slaves in Curacao. The Maritiem Museum Curaçao and the Curaçaosch Museum are very interesting to visit because they are like gates to the history and culture of this magnificent area. Other places not to miss are the Aloe Vera Plantation where you can see how aloe vera is grown and learn everything about this fascinating plant, and the Curacao Seaquarium which creates a natural habitat for the marine life.
On Sao Miguel island there is a beautiful golf club where visitors can play golf. There is no need to bring your own equipment because the golf course has equipment available for rental. Furnas Lake is an interesting tourist attraction because it is a volcanic lake located in the Furnas Valley which is dominated by the smell of sulphur and boiling springs. The Romantic Gardens are a big attraction in Sao Miguel’s capital, Ponta Delgada. The gardens include the Antonio Borges Garden and the Jose do Canto Garden where tourist will find a very rare collection of plants. There is plenty of beautiful nature to admire in the Azores. The Church of St. Sebastian and Igreja do Santo Cristo are two of the many churches that truly deserve to be paid a visit.
